Hello Craftaholics!

The first time I ever saw a daisy flower was in a Korean movie called Daisy. White daisies don’t grow in my country, but I was instantly captivated by their simple beauty. I loved the movie—a mix of action and romance—but what stayed with me most were the daisies that Jung would bring for Jun.

Those delicate white petals with their bright yellow centers reminded me of a perfectly poached egg—so simple yet so striking. I couldn’t help but wonder what it would be like to have daisies of my own. So, I thought, why not make some? Even if I’ve never seen one in real life, I could still bring their charm to life with paper.

Paper daisies are perfect for adding a cheerful touch to your home decor, sprucing up spring or summer centerpieces, or as creative embellishments for handmade cards and gifts. They’re also great for seasonal celebrations like Easter, Mother’s Day, or daisy-themed events.

While this craft may not be the easiest for beginners, with a little practice, you’ll get the hang of it. To make things simpler, we’ve created a free printable daisy petal template to guide you through each step. How to Make Paper Daisy Flowers

    Step 1: Preparing the Patterns

Preparing the Patterns of Paper daisy

Select crepe papers for the daisy flower craft. We’re using white crepe paper for the petals and yellow for the center strip. Trace the template pattern cutouts on the paper selected for the petals and cut them out nicely.

Also, trace the stip on yellow paper and cut it out. Use scissors to cut neat, small, and even fringes along any one side of the yellow strip.

    Step 2: Coiling the Strip

Coiling the Strip of paper daisy

Grab the yellow fringed strip and start to coil it tightly. You can apply a little glue when starting the coiling and using glue between the coiling won’t be necessary. Continue to coil until the strip ends. Apply glue at the end of the coil to secure the pattern. This is the center of the paper daisy flower.

Step 3: Cutting Middle Slits on Petals

    Cutting Middle Slits on Petals

This step is important. Cut a 1 cm slit from the bottom middle point of a petal. Similarly, cut slits on each petal cutout.

Step 4: Join the Both Sides of the Slit

Join the Both Sides of the Slit

Apply glue on either side of the slit, just a drop of glue will do. Overlap both sides of the glue, making sure to keep the glue between both overlapped parts. Press them to make sure they are joined nicely. This will give the petal a 3d look.

    Step 5: Prepare all Petals

    Prepare all Petals

One by one join both sides of the slits for all petal cutouts. Allow the glue to dry before crafting the daisy flower.

    Step 6:Add Petals to Base

    Add Petals to Base

Trace and cut out the round shape on paper. Any regular paper or cardstock will do. Start by gluing 2 petals on the outer edge of the round base, placing them opposite to each other. The position of these 2 petals will help you arrange the rest of the petals neatly.

    Step 7: Add 1st Layer

Add 1st Layer of paper daisy

Now attach 2 plus 2 petals on both sides of the attached petals. We have attached 6 petals near the border of the round base, this is the first layer of our paper daisy flower petals.

    Step 8: Add 2nd Layer

Add 2nd Layer of paper daisy

For the 2nd layer of daisy petals, simply attach them towards the center of the base and placing each petal between 2 petals of the 1st layer. Arranging the petals nicely and evenly on the base is the important step of this craft, the final look of the paper daisy flower would depend on this step.

Step 9: Add the Center Pattern

Now, simply attach the yellow coiled pattern in the center of the petals. Use your fingertips to spread the fringes of the center coil.  And Done! Wasn’t that easy? Now you can craft more and use them to craft a wreath, or use them as photography props, scrapbooking, and much more. DIY Paper Daisy Flower
