I’m not a good cook but I love trying out recipes every once in a while. So, my husband loves strawberry syrup and jam; we usually have the store bought ones but I wanted to prepare it myself this time. I was surprised to find out that the syrup turned out super delish!
Oh… wait, this article is about strawberry pancakes, right! lol! Anyways when I was chopping the strawberries for the syrup, I suddenly thought of making some strawberry pancakes (you know, pancakes are the lifesaver for lazy cooks!). These pancakes tasted really good and looked pretty nice as well.
The ingredients include the basic pancake ingredients. I added some colorful food sprinkles to add some fun to the texture. Kids will definitely love these. Check out the instructions and give it a try. I will post the strawberry syrup recipe very soon 😀
Prep Time: 5 minute
Strawberry Syrup: 10 minute.
Cooking Time: 2 to 3 minute for each pancake
List of Ingredients:
- All-purpose Flour – 1 cup
- Sugar – 2 Tsp
- Salt – half tsp
- Baking powder – 2 Tsp
- Liquid Milk – 1 cup
- Egg – 1
- Melted Butter – 2 Tbsp
- Strawberry – Sliced, 3-4 slices for each pancake.
- Strawberry Essence
- Colorful Food Sprinkles
In a bowl add wet ingredients – 1 cup of milk, 1 egg, 1 tsp of strawberry essence and 2 tbsp of melted butter. Mix them really well. Keep aside for now.
In another bowl add all the dry ingredients – 1 cup of all-purpose flour, 2 tsp of baking powder, 2 tsp of sugar and half tsp of salt. Mix the ingredients nicely.
Add the dry ingredient mixture to the wet mixture bowl little by little and mix them really well until there’s no bump left. We’ll be adding 3 to 4 slices of strawberries to each pancake, you can add more if you want to. The number of required strawberries would depend on how thick and how many slices you can cut from 1 strawberry. However, cut them into slices.
Now we have our batter, strawberry slices and food sprinkles ready! Time to make those pancakes!
In a frying pan add half tsp of butter and melt the butter on medium heat. Once the butter is melted bring down the heat to medium low and pour of pancake batter to the pan. Allow the batter to spread on its own.
Wait for half a minute or until the bottom is cooked and the top side of batter stops bubbling. Add the strawberry slices on the top.
Wait for another minute and then add the food sprinkles on the top of the pancake batter, around the strawberries. Cook on low heat for another minute. Flip the pancake for a few seconds right before taking it out of the pan; don’t keep it too long on heat after flipping.
Make pancakes with the rest of the batter.
