Step 1: Base Fold for Origami Bookmark

Measure and prepare a 12cm x 12cm white paper for the rabbit bookmark. You can select any colored craft paper you like, we are crafting a white rabbit bookmark. Take the square paper and fold it in half diagonally.
Step 2: Fold Up the Sides

Hold the right-closed corner and fold it up. Join the left corner with the top-open corner. Similarly, fold up the left-closed corner.
Step 3: Fold Down the Left and Right Flaps

Hold the right flap and fold it down (by folding it in half). Similarly, fold the left flap.
Step 4: Unfolding the Sides and Folding the Middle

Unfold the last 4 folds on the right and left sides. Hold the top open corner of the top layer and fold it to the opposite side.
Step 5: Fold Up and Tuck the Right Flap

Fold up the right flap and tuck it inside the triangle pocket in the middle.
Step 6: Fold Up and Tuck the Left Flap

Fold up the left flap and tuck it inside the triangle pocket in the middle.
Step 7: Prepare the Rabbit Patterns

Print out the template and trace the rabbit patterns on the same paper used for the corner bookmark. Cut a round edge on the open corner of the origami bookmark. This will be the top side of the rabbit’s head.
Step 8: Attach the Patterns to the Bookmark

Attach the inner ear cutouts to the outer ear cutouts, and then attach the ear patterns on the round
Step 9: Draw the Face of the Rabbit

To complete the craft, use a Sharpie or gel pen to draw the eyes, nose, and mouth of the origami bookmark rabbit.
Easter Chick Bookmark

The chick bookmark pattern includes hair, beak, wings, and blush. Use a yellow square paper to make the origami corner bookmark and cut round edge on the open side. Then attach the template cutouts to create the chick pattern bookmark.
Easter Sheep Bookmark

The sheep bookmark pattern includes hair, ears, and blush. Use a grey or black square paper to make the origami corner bookmark and cut round edge on the open side. Then attach the sheep template cutouts to create the sheep pattern bookmark.
Easter Carrot Bookmark

The carrot bookmark requires a leaf pattern only. Use orange square paper to make the origami corner bookmark and cut a round edge on the open side. Attach the leaf cutout (prepared from green paper) to the round edge, facing outside.
Your Corner Bookmarks Not Turning Out Right?
These Tips Might Help!
Having a little hiccup while folding or decorating your bookmarks? No worries! Here are some common issues and quick tips to help you get back on track:
1. Bookmark base doesn’t look like a triangle?
👉 Tip: Double-check that your starting paper is a perfect square.
Even a few millimeters off can affect the final fold. Use a ruler if needed to trim and get those clean corners.
2. Flaps won’t tuck in or keep popping out?
👉 Tip: Refold the side flaps tightly before tucking them in.
Make sure the inner pocket is well-creased. A fingernail or ruler edge can help sharpen the folds and keep things snug.
3. Decorations look lopsided or uneven?
👉 Tip: Fold the base first, then lay it flat before adding the character pieces.
This gives you a better sense of spacing, especially for symmetrical designs like the bunny or chick.
4. Face patterns like the bunny ears or chick beak look crooked?
👉 Tip: Use the rounded open corner as your top guide.
Center the facial features along that curve and lightly mark placements with a pencil before gluing.
5. Paper is wrinkling or tearing with glue?
👉 Tip: Avoid liquid glue—use a glue stick or double-sided tape.
These are cleaner, easier to control, and won’t warp thin craft paper.
6. Cutting out small shapes (ears, beaks, leaves) feels tricky?
👉 Tip: Print the template on thicker paper or trace onto cardstock.
This makes it easier to cut along the lines and keeps the pieces sturdy while you glue them.
7. Bookmark doesn’t stay on the page well?
👉 Tip: Press the folds firmly, and use lightweight paper for the base.
Heavier paper can slide off or resist folding tightly—go for 80–100 gsm craft paper for best results.
