How to Make Paper Flowers with Stems
Supplies
- Crepe paper
- Green craft paper
- Scissors
- Craft glue
Instructions
Step 1
Select a colorful crepe paper for this craft and cut out 12 to 15 teardrop-shaped pieces from the selected crepe paper. Try keeping the sizes of the teardrop-shaped pieces relatively the same.
Step 2
Take a teardrop crepe paper cutout and cut a 1 cm slit along the middle bottom end of it.
Step 3
Cut out a strip (4 cm wide and 12 cm long) from green-colored craft paper. Start to roll the strip diagonally from any open side to form a straw pattern. Apply glue at the end of the rolled paper to secure it
Take any one of the teardrop cutouts and apply a drop of glue on the bottom side (the curved side of the teardrops are the bottom sides).
Step 4
Wrap the glued side of the teardrop around any 1 open end of the green paper straw made in the previous step. The green straw will be the stem.
Now take another teardrop cutout and apply glue on the bottom side of it.
Step 5
Wrap the glued part of the teardrop around the green straw from any 1 side; making sure that the second teardrop is placed slightly below the first one.
Step 6
Now, take another teardrop cutout but this time attach it on the opposite side of the previous one. Remember to attach every current teardrop cutout on the opposite side of the previously attached one, each time.
Step 7
Continue to attach teardrop crepe paper cutouts until the flower reaches its required length.
Step 8
Grab a little green-colored crepe paper and cut out some leaf shapes from it. Attach the leaf cutouts below the heliconia flower pattern.
