Step by Step Instructions for a Bear Holding a Heart Card

Valentine Bear Steps 1 - How to Make a Cute Bear Valentine Card (Template + Video Tutorial)

Download and print the template, which includes the bear body parts and the heart card. Choose sturdy cardstock paper for the bear base and regular colored craft paper for the bear’s facial features and the heart card. Trace all the template patterns onto the selected papers using a pencil and cut them out neatly with scissors.
Carefully use an X-acto knife to cut the inner sections of the bear’s upper legs (arms), making sure the sides remain attached—these will hold the heart card later.

Tips for Beginners for Crafting a Valentine Bear Card

Before you start crafting, here are a few helpful tips to make the process smooth and stress-free:

  • Use medium-weight cardstock for the bear base so it’s sturdy enough to hold the heart card without bending.
  • When cutting the arm slots, go slow and steady with the X-acto knife—small, careful cuts work best.
  • Let glued parts dry for a few seconds before moving to the next step to avoid shifting pieces.
  • Draw facial details after all paper parts are glued to keep the face neatly aligned.
  • If kids are crafting, an adult can help with cutting and blade work while the rest stays fun and safe.
