Step by Step Instructions for Father’s Day Heart Shirt Card
Step 1: Preparing the Template Patterns
Download, print, and cut out the Father’s Day shirt card template. Choose colored craft papers for your card. The template includes patterns for the card base, shirt (card), bow tie, and buttons

Step 2: Cutting the Shirt Card Slit
Use a pair of scissors to cut a 2 cm deep slit along the top middle part of the short card’s top (front) layer.

Step 3: Craft the Shirt Card Collar
Fold the left side of the slit, diagonally to form the left side of the collar. Similarly, fold the right side of the slit to complete the heart shirt’s collart part.

Step 4: Prepare the Card with Texts
Take the single heart cutout and write down your Father’s Day message on it. The texts should be written in the middle, below the top edge of the collar. Allow the ink to dry completely.

Step 5: Closing the Card and Preparing the Bow Patterns
Once the ink dries, close the shirt card. Take the bow pattern cutouts.

Step 6: Completing the Papercraft Bow Pattern
Fold and glue the left and right outer ends of the bow base to its middle part. Coil the middle part of the papercraft bow with the small strip cutout.

Step 7: Attaching the Bow and the Buttons
Glue the papercraft bow to the top middle part of the heart shirt pattern. Attach the button cutouts along the middle of the heart card. Allow the glue to dry and give your handcrafted card to your dad!

Tips for Beginners: Father’s Day Heart Shirt Card
If you’re new to crafting or want to ensure your Father’s Day shirt card turns out perfectly, here are some helpful tips to make the process easier and more enjoyable:
- Choose the Right Paper:
Use sturdy craft paper or cardstock for the card base and shirt. Thicker paper ensures your card will hold up well and be easier to fold and cut. Lighter papers may be more difficult to work with, especially when folding or cutting intricate shapes. - Cutting Accuracy is Key:
When cutting out the templates, take your time to follow the edges precisely. Sharp scissors and steady hands will give you cleaner, more accurate cuts, especially around the collar and button areas. - Use a Bone Folder for Sharp Folds:
If you have a bone folder or a scoring tool, use it to make crisp folds for the shirt collar and card base. This will give your folds a neat, professional look, preventing any unwanted creases. - Cut the Slit Carefully:
Cutting the slit for the shirt collar can be tricky. Use a ruler to measure the correct placement and keep your cut even. Make sure the slit is only 1 cm deep to avoid tearing the paper. - Apply Glue Neatly:
Apply a small amount of glue to prevent excess glue from showing. You can also use double-sided tape for cleaner results. - Personalize with Your Own Style:
Don’t hesitate to get creative! You can choose your dad’s favorite colors for the card or even add some fun details like patterns on the shirt or extra decorations. - Write the Message Last
It’s always a good idea to wait until you’ve assembled the card before writing your message. This way, you’ll have a clean, stable surface to work on without worrying about smudging or messing up the writing.

We hope you had fun crafting this sweet Father’s Day shirt card! It’s a simple yet thoughtful way to show Dad how much you care. Whether it’s the colors, patterns, or message inside, every detail will make this card extra special.
