Take any bookworm, and you’ll see that almost everyone has one or two beautiful memories-related bookmarks. Growing up, people called me a bookworm (only the humble ones, most called me a nerd :D). I loved the smell of new books; I even kept books by my side while sleeping. But new books were a rare commodity in middle-class families in Bangladesh. So, I used to borrow books from a nearby library.
Most of the books were pre-owned, and many of those books had notes written by the previous owner. I loved reading those notes filled with love and empathy. One day, I found an origami bookmark, and inside that bookmark, there was a note.
“Honey, let’s enjoy the rain.”
It rains a lot where I live. And probably, the rain in Sylhet is the most beautiful in the world. Trust me, that origami bookmark was no less than a love letter. I made a few origami bookmarks right after finding that. And that’s the moment when I fell in love with making bookmarks.
This article is for all my fellow bookworms, who love to make bookmarks and give them to their loved ones as gifts. I made a list of different bookmark types, but none are occasion specific. I kids-friendly DIY bookmarks tutorials so that you can insert the love of books into them at a very young age.
I assume some of you guys don’t have time to read all 23 tutorials and select one to make. So, I made a top 3 list based on 3 categories. I hope, this effort of mine will help you find the one you want to make.
